Tips for Shifting to a Fruit Diet for healing (The most healing diet there is)
People all over the world have had inspiring successes healing a variety of physical and emotional ailments with a diet of solely or mostly fruit. Anything from chronic depression to broken bones to life-threatening 'diseases' have been healed.
If you've researched the works of Dr. Robert Morse, Arnold Ehret, or the Medical Medium, perhaps this is something you've been inspired to try. Maybe it's just intuitive.
If you haven't even heard of it before, you're not alone. Read on...
There a few obstacles to this information: fear-based programming around fruit sugar, misinformation around the body's need for complete proteins (perpetuated by meat and dairy industry and the pharmaceutical industry via the medical establishment), or simple addictions to food and the desire to believe something.
Perhaps you know in your heart that fruit could heal you, but you're having trouble getting started, or are severely addicted to the foods that you know aren't serving you, or you don't feel compelled to make the shift because nothing is life threatening yet.
First, please read with an open mind. Getting started is the most difficult part. Arnold Ehret developed a helpful 'transition' diet, because people in the early 20th century were having the same problem. You can find it in his Mucusless Diet Healing System book, and Professor Spira is a contemporary practitioner that experiments with and elaborates on the diet, without losing the spirit.
Simply put, when you switch the body to ideal foods (fruits and herbs), or simply cut out non-ideal foods, (or all foods- fasting) it heals. Simple.
All non-ideal foods (or non-foods), such as grains, beans, nuts, seeds, starches, oils, and animal products, do not break down cleanly, so they leave toxic residue that builds up in the body over time, and the body produces mucus to protect the mucosa, which also builds up. Ehret thought this to be the root of 'all' disease, and he didn't come to the conclusion through studies, but through experimenting on himself and testing his theories on others, at his Sanitorium for Fruit and Fasting, where he cured 'incurables.'
You essentially want to spend as much time as you can with the colon clean. When the colon is clean, the body starts to shed impacted fecal matter and mucoid plaque from the walls of the intestines and other organs, draws out parasites yeast, and fungus, ejects mucus, and squeezes toxins out of other tissues, including lifelong toxins related to pharmaceuticals and additives to livestock or dairy.
To do this, we need foods that are cleanly converted to energy, without producing mucus or leaving residue behind. The bowels should move 3 times a day, and for ideal bowel movements, there is no wiping required. If there is, whatever that is is also coating the intestines, layer after layer, year after year.
What about protein? That consideration throws most people's health into a tailspin. I'll talk about it more below.
Many people cannot have trouble just leaping to fruit. For one thing, there are so many detox symptoms, it can be miserable. If you have a life-threatening disease, by all means, jump right on fruit; time is of the essence! And I'll show you how to slow down detox symptoms without stopping them.
You can also break the transition into these stages:
Cut out all animal products as soon as you can. They are seriously slowing down the healing process, deteriorating various organs (especially the kidneys), dehydrating the body, and polluting an already overburdened lymphatic system. This is true even if they are well treated, grass fed animals. If they are factory farmed and loaded with artificial ingredients as well, the situation worsens.
Begin to introduce more and more fruit, the food humans were designed to eat, and cut way back on fats, to less than 2 tbs of olive oil or another oil per day, or perhaps an avocado instead. Fruit needs to be eaten by itself; 20 minutes before other meals, or 2- 3 hours after, or it ferments.
A high fat diet adversely impacts how the body can utilize the sugars.
Get simpler with the food combining; eating fruit alone, and any starch or protein with something that will help it move through. Ehret recommended eating nuts with dried fruit and starch with a salad.
Begin to frame it so that every meal is either a fruit meal, a salad, or vegetable soup, with minimal seasoning (and no tomatoes... too acidic cooked). I recommend not eating nuts or beans at all during healing (they will slow you down), but if you do, I recommend always soaking them overnight first.
Your body is beginning to detox. How quickly or how slowly depends on your fat, starch, and protein intake. The less of those you eat, the faster your results will be. Again, we're going for consistency rather than speed. Many people bounce in and bounce right back out because they feel so terrible or lose faith. It is better to consider this a journey, and find a sustainable system that works for you.
You want to begin retraining the body to run on the right sugars, as painlessly as possible. This can be done by introducing them in the morning, via one of the options below:
Master Clease Elixir. The Classic. I like to fit a lot of lemons in generally, which are astringent and alkalizing, meaning they pull toxins from the tissues.
Recipe: 2 lemons, an equal amount of Grade B (which I think now they call Grade A Dark) maple syrup, and water to taste; I usually fill the remainder of a 1 liter bottle with water. I leave out the suggested cayenne (as Dr. Morse suggests), though many choose to include it. It is thought to break up mucus, though I also think it causes mucus, since the delicate tissues in the body produce a layer of mucus to buffer the capsaicinoids, an 'unsuccessful' adaptive property to prevent animals from eating the fruits of chilis.
Master Fast Drink. Another option, organic grape juice, preferably not from concentrate, with lemon added. This is a powerful detox recipe, which I used often at certain points of healing. This is based on the Masterfast System, which I don't advocate for the deepest healing, unless you're using unpasteurized juice, but it can be used to supplement your cleanse. It will purge body systems.
Blended fruit. A blended, water-rich fruit, like melon; watermelon is my favorite. No other ingredients required. Simplicity is the soul of beauty.
These are life giving foods, and dense nutrition; every time you ingest them, you're reawakening organs, glands, and the body's natural intelligence, and healing is happening.
Tip for cravings:
When you're craving just about anything, you can quickly whip up one of the above concoctions to fill yourself up. Sometimes, at the beginning, I would chug these. My body just wouldn't feel full without protein, so I had to saturate it with nutrients and fluids.
Some cravings are emotional / mental. We crave our comfort food in times of discomfort, and this will certainly be that, if you're not used to eating this way. We also get 'addicted' to feeling bad, and gravity can continue to pull us that way. Resist.
There can be physiological reasons for cravings as well.
Starch cravings might be related to a fungal problem. Try to integrate some herbs and foods over time that are anti-fungal. The cravings will also subside as the fruit clears and alkalizes the system.
Salt cravings can be associated with adrenal fatigue. Eating kelp or sea vegetables daily until they subside can be helpful.
The most healing diets seem to be free of added salt.
The Medical Medium suggests drinking celery juice in the morning to restore natural sodiums and HCL levels. He also writes that seaweed containing radiation is not necessarily a deterrent from eating it; it absorbs radiation until it is full, and doesn't release it into the body.
It is completely natural to crave sugar. It is the body's preferred source of fuel. We just get cross wired about what kind of sugar. Eat fruit or drink fruit juice for sugar cravings, and they will soon pass.
Stay vegan. Now move toward all or mostly raw.
Cut out all remaining protein-rich foods immediately (nuts, beans, and seeds). Cut out grains. If you cheat, try to cheat with a starch vegetable eaten with a salad. The best cheat is a sweet potato with a very low fat salad. The worse is an probably an animal product, something with artificial ingredients, or something fried in oil.
Avoid protein rich foods and animal products as much as possible. You want to keep the detox going.
Fruit is the staple now; one type of fruit per meal, if possible, blended or eaten. As much as you desire.
There is an intelligence built into this process, which makes over eating difficult. The fruit and the body react to one another when the body is 'done' with a particular fruit. This clear signal seems to mostly happen with mono-meals (one type of fruit), once the system is cleaned out, and the natural appetites are getting restored.
Introduce the herbal supplements if desired here. If you take them while eating a more omnivorous diet, there is a limit to what they can accomplish, and the money spent won't be as well used.
I suggest a lemon water enema a few times per week, in the morning, or in the evening. 2 Lemons and distilled water in an enema bag or bucket. Go to bed with an empty colon if possible. No laxative teas; just the enema as needed. Try to move the bowels at least once a day (though they should move more than that).
The Food of Eden
"And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food."
Just fruits and herbs, or a salad with herbs added. Minimal or no oil or salt of any variety. Do as many days as you can this way. Lemon enema if you need movement.
If desired, a green drink daily, either grass juices, or juiced greens. Herbs are best, as they pull heavy metals out of the system. Make sure the green drink or superfood blend doesn't have protein added, or probiotics; those will slow you down. Just dried berries or grasses.
The Highest Level of Healing Known
Just fruit, one fruit if you like, with days of dry fasting, intermittent fasting, and sun bathing / deep breathing / gentle movement.
You won't need much fruit on some days; other days you may need more. You want to think of it as mostly a fast, with some fruit thrown in here and there, instead of vice versa. This is where you'll get at the deepest levels of healing.
When you find it's easy, try to fast. Let yourself emote, as the things you're 'stuck on' or the ways you've used food in the past to numb, will invariably come up, if they haven't already.
Grapes are one of the most powerful, and a grape fast of any length can heal just about anything. Darker the grape, the better, and choose organic, for yourself and the planet.
Remember that this is a process. It took a lifetime for your health to get to where it is, so it takes some time to heal (perhaps a month for every year of symptoms is a reasonable guideline). Anyway, I look forward to your healing.
